“ONE STEP “ is a classic throwback modern funk single that conveys a nostalgic mood while still remaining relevant through its lyrics. The song’s empowering message references the importance of taking a leap of faith towards your purpose; which also reflects the group’s initiative to produce the EP. Its strong sonic vintage appeal pays tribute to the funk & vinyl culture of the 80s that sets a pleasant nostalgic mood. The track begins with an infectiously timeless bass line that serves as an 8-bar red carpet cat walk towards the dance floor. When the drums hit, a refreshing splash of synths takes listeners on a road trip with the top down. Combined with Fredy V’s smooth vocal approach, “One Step” serves as an anthem for aspiring performers, creatives and entrepreneurs.
In the spirit of the single, Fredy V & The Foundation has partnered with the Dynastie Sports Institute; a unique basketball academy just outside of Montreal dedicated to recruiting and developing high level French-speaking talent from countries like Congo, Guinea, France and
Ivory Coast with the goal of ushering the next wave of NBA players out of Quebec. The journey of aspiring professional basketball players and the come up of independent artists are very similar in numerous ways. Some of their similarities can be found in their goals which include: ownership, entrepreneurship, positive media relations and a mission to improve their respective communities.
In honor of this partnership the two entities have developed the #OneStepMission. A promise between #TeamFoundation and #TeamDynasty that everyday both entities will take at least
“one step” towards their “why”. The goal of this movement is to inspire different organizations and institutions to start their own partnerships and implement the #OneStepMission to their respective youth initiatives.
The song will be paired with a music/lyric video shot at the Dynastie Sports Institute featuring their 20’-21’ roster. In addition to the lyric video, #TeamFoundation is producing a short documentary which will tell the unique story of #TeamDynasty and its players to be released shortly after the single.

ONE STEP - Lyrics
(F. Varre, M. Pacifico)
(One Step)
-
It’s a struggle everyday
Just to face yourself
and to break out of your shell
Your mind is in the way
You’ve be been building all these walls
Try to climb them and you fall
Blinded by your pride
You get lost in time
and your visions fall behind
So if you wanna ride
Don’t sleep with the enemy
Better get your ass in line
-
One Step
Go and get it
Now or never, we’ll never know if we don’t try
One Step
Getting closer
Now or never, don’t let this moment pass you by
One Step
Go and get it
Now or never, we’ll never know if we don’t try
One Step
Getting closer
Now or never, don’t let this moment pass you by
-
‘Imma get what I need
You know I got mouths to feed
Ain’t looking for a handout
Don’t follow ‘imma take the lead
Just trying to plant seeds
Blowing trees by the sea
No limits on my cashout
When I wanna ‘imma up and leave
It takes so much to get through these days
How you gon’ stand in your own way
Hope you gon’ find your purpose someday
Don’t stop ain’t know holding back
You know I ain’t got time to waste
-
One Step
Go and get it
Now or never, we’ll never know if we don’t try
One Step
Getting closer
Now or never, don’t let this moment pass you by
(Pass you by)
One Step
Go and get it
Now or never, we’ll never know if we don’t try
(we’ll never know)
One Step
Getting closer
Now or never, don’t let this moment pass you by
-
(One Step)
(OneStep)
(One Step)
(One Step)
Chorus
One Step
Go and get it
Now or never, we’ll never know if we don’t try
One Step
Getting closer
Now or never, don’t let this moment pass you by
One Step
Go and get it
Now or never, we’ll never know if we don’t try
One Step
Getting closer
Now or never, don’t let this moment pass you by
